Support Paddler Event Day Instructions

DO NOT APPROACH CLOSER TO THE ISLAND THAN THE 100m GATE. Swimmers must be allowed space to swim.

You may meet with your paddler in the 100m to 400m zone. This gives plenty of opportunity as you will both be heading in the direction of the 400m buoy. If you fail to find your swimmer before 400m, wait at the 400m buoy. They should do the same and meet you there.

Any swimmer without support who has passed the 400m line will be removed from the water.

Please bring a whistle if you have one to attract attention and indicate a problem.

After 400m an emergency is to be indicated by holding the paddle straight up and waving.

Support paddlers MUST wear buoyancy aids.

Supports Paddlers found without buoyancy aids will be removed from the swim together with their swimmer by the marshals/support boats and will be stopped from entering future events.

Please keep well hydrated. It's hot and humid - we recommend sun hats, sun screen etc as you will be out there for 2-4 hours........

Please don't drop litter.

Each Kayak / SUP shall support no more than two swimmers.

Power boats are not allowed as swim support.
